After an intensive period of preparation and implementation, DISC Belgium proudly obtained the VCA* 2008/5.1 safety management system certificate in August 2011.

As a result of the Act of 4 August 1996 concerning the well-being of workers, more and more industrial companies have been requiring certain standards of safety performance from their subcontractors, by selecting contractors who are VCA certified.

VCA is a safety management system which companies can implement in order to show that their company is well-organized in the area of safety at work (by means of a declaration of intention, procedures, instructions, description of tasks and responsibilities, training, risk identification and – evaluation etc.). The main objective is the prevention of accidents ensuring that safety risk are mapped and prevention measures are postulated and implemented.

Since the DISC Belgium employees work for several high risk industry branches, this year our target was reaching VCA* 2008/5.1 as well. Its implementation became the reflection of the dynamic well-being policy that DISC Belgium wishes to adopt for its staff.
